How to play Klondike

Klondike Solitaire is very likely the most popular solitaire card game available. It has become so popular that the word "solitaire" in many languages alludes directly to Klondike. The objective of the game is to collect all the 52 cards in the four foundation piles.

Layout
The layout of Klondike Solitaire is divided into three areas. The stock pile is located in the upper left corner and the cards from the deck can be moved to the tableau as well as the foundation piles. The tableau consists of seven piles, and is centrally located in the layout. At the beginning of the solitaire game the cards are laid out so that the first pile contains one card, the second pile contains two cards, the third contains three cards, and so on. The top card of each pile is face up, while the rest are placed face down. Top right are the four foundation piles. The foundations piles are empty at the beginning of the game and are built up during the game with cards from each of the four suits from aces to kings.

Klondike Solitaire rules
Fill the foundation piles with cards in the four suits from aces to kings. Cards in the tableau can be built in descending sequence of alternating colors. Both individual cards and entire sequences of cards built in descending sequence of alternating colors can be moved between different piles. When a card facing down is uncovered, it is turned face up and the card can is playable. If there is no card in a tableau pile, only kings can be moved to the empty pile. The cards in the stock pile are turned three and three, and can be moved into both the tableau and the foundation piles. When the stock pile is empty, the entire pile is turned over, and the game continues. The game ends, when it is not possible to carry out further moves between the cards. The game is won if all the cards are moved to the four foundation piles.

Klondike Solitaire strategy
One possible strategy for a better chance to win is not playing cards from the stock pile, unless it provides an opportunity to turn a card or provide an opportunity to move a card to a foundation pile. Another strategy is to priorities turning cards in the bigger piles first, as this can increase the number of cards in play, and thus the number of possible moves. Even with the right strategy, every game og Klondike Solitaire cannot be won, but you will have an increased success rate.
